Graduates of Lusófona University's Nutrition Sciences degree course will have the following skills:
- Public Health - Assess and analyze the nutritional status and consumption habits of the population and promote the planning of food recommendations for groups of individuals, designing food and nutrition programs.
- Clinical Nutrition - Assessing nutritional status at an individual level, as well as carrying out a dietary anamnesis, providing individual nutritional assistance, and making a nutritional diagnosis and prescription, based on clinical, biochemical, anthropometric, and dietary data.
- Food and Catering - Managing, planning, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating facilities, personnel, and foodstuffs in the areas of catering, public catering, and hotels. Planning menus and optimizing the cost/quality ratio of meals.
- Research and Teaching - Teaching Nutrition Science courses, advanced professional training courses, or other courses in subjects within the scope of their competencies. Developing research projects relevant to the field of nutrition and food sciences and its importance for disease prevention and health promotion.
- Sports - Assessing nutritional status, and nutritional needs and drawing up appropriate dietary plans, according to the sport, time of the season, and performance objectives.
- Agri-food industry - Collaborate in developing new food products, based on nutritional recommendations and clinical guidelines.
