Admission Conditions
The following may apply for the Master's Degree: a) People who hold a B.A. or equivalent degree; b) People who hold a foreign academic degree awarded after a 1st study cycle organized according to the Bologna Process by a member state of that process; c) People who hold a foreign academic degree acknowledged as a degree satisfying the objectives of the graduate degree by the due body; d) People who have a school, scientific or professional curriculum acknowledged by the due body of ULHT certifying the capacity to obtain this study cycle.

The competences of the Social Workers are at the level of theoretical knowledge and its operation in professional contexts in the domain of social policies and the communicative skills required in a professional environment. The master's degree should contribute enabling the professional to: Learn new ways of approaching social problems, in permanent update; Develop research that allows better knowledge of the study and intervention subject; Motivate him(her)self with autonomy, in the selection of training to acquire throughout life, in differentiated spaces of the national and international territory.

Objectives
Objectives
Obeying the principles of the Bologna Agreement, the Master¿s degree ¿Social Service and Social Policy¿ intends to consolidate the basic training acquired in the Degree in Social Services and provide a wider professional qualification in the field of Social Services and its articulation with Social Policies. This degree responds to the growing demands of linking training with political foundations in the approach to the issues of social inequality and social inclusion of vulnerable groups. It equally constitutes a privileged space to rethink social intervention in its theoretical-methodological and ethic-political fundaments. The master¿s in ¿Social Service and Social Policies¿ aims to: Provide the students with the skills to develop and deepen knowledge gained in the 1st cycle; Investigate the relation and articulation of Social Service with Social Policies; Articulate knowledge of the Social Service area with the area of social science; Reflect on ethical and deontological issues related with investigation and intervention; Communicate and debate social problems with other specialists, putting focus on the Social Service approach perspective.

Career Opportunities
The attainment of the 2nd Degree provides a qualification in the area of Social Service with repercussions in the persecution of a profession and academic career. Deepening the scientific and research methodology prepares post-graduates for integrating and leading research projects in the area of Social Work. It may be viewed as a degree of access to academic career at the level of Doctorate and Post-doctorate. It allows for the acquisition of conceptual and methodological instruments for the production of knowledge, fundamental to the social work in the present day.
