Techniques of Written Expression II
Presentation
The subject of Writing Techniques II complements the work developed in the past semester. The student must be able to recognize different types of fictional text and master the techniques for its implementation. To know how to create characters and to know the implications of this work in the elaboration of a script. They will need to have made progress in the area of ¿¿creativity development, namely through its application in the transversal project (II). Learn to think in a non-linear way, namely through mind maps and the study of lateral thinking, creating simple narratives that are intended to be original.

Syllabus
The Notebook and referencing ideas and concepts. Creation of characters and dialogues in the script. Narrative structures. Fictional themes and their cinematographic treatment. Convergent and divergent thinking. Lateral Thinking. Mind Mapping. Authors of World Literature and their use of language. Literary genres and transposition to the cinema. Introduction to dramaturgy.
Objectives
Provide students with skills in the writing area, with special emphasis on audiovisual one. Develop creative mechanisms directing them towards cinematographic creation. Allow contact with some literary texts, opening clues to an area that will serve as a reference for present and future records. Provide theoretical instruments that allow students to conceive and communicate stories fictionalized by images and sounds. Among these instruments, which obey their own rules, we highlight the set of decisions that need to be made in terms of the idea, design, alignment, structure and production of the script, adapting the work to the chosen medium and taking into account the conditions of diffusion. foreseen, the objective and the recipients.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Theoretical-practical classes, using a variety of teaching methods and techniques in the classroom. Use of projected diagrams, viewing of short and feature films of various genres, educational games in the field of creativity, among others. The evaluation will be continuous, punctuated by practical exercises at the end of each content segment. From this set of works, individually or in partnerships, there will be comparisons between original literary works and their adapted films, developement of characters, several writing exercises, indicated in the moodle, with delivery dates (60%) Writing of a synopsis for transversal project (20%), its transformation into a script and film (10%) and the use of a graphic diary (in collaboration with other chairs) to register the main works of TEE II (digitalized delivery) until June 14 (10%).
