Objectives
Understanding and ability to use the concepts and technologies used in Digital Electronics. First contacts with a Electronics Laboratory and basic diagnostic tools for small / medium complexity circuit analysis. Design / analysis of sequential and combinational circuits using commercial integrated circuits. Using help tools in the project in CAD. Getting experience in the Implementation of prototypes of digital circuits.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Theoretical part - 50% of the Final classification: Practice (Lab) - 50% of the final grade, Practice part subject under specific regulation. 6-8 Projects to be held during the semester Lab sessions. Will be considered the best 5 delivered Reports out of the total. The student's performance in the Laboratory will be considered. Reports will be delivered in the week following each session. The statements will be available before each session beforehand so they should be prepared in advance. Simulation are intensively used with teacher CAD project support. Approval: Lab successfully approved regarding the Continuous Assessment and Reports, minimum 9.5 points (in 20). Mandatory approval. Fail if 25% of unexcused absences.
1xGlobal Freq or 1xfinal Exam in the end of the Semester covering the entire field of theoretical classes. Approval: Minimum grade of 9.5 (in 20). Anti fraud measures apply.
Final - Arithmetic average of Theoretical and Practice, since both are Approved.
