Prerequisites and co-requisites
There is the possibility of realizing a project in energy and power framed in the following areas: 1. Basic aspects of energy processing. 2. Sizing, control and simulation of power and power systems. 3. Design of electrical installations in buildings. 4. Design of electrical transformers. 5. Project of power lines. 6. Harmonic distortion and active power filters. 7. Development and monitoring of the assigned project.
A ¿To develop the design capacity in electric power and power systems, namely in the areas of power systems, power electronics, industrial electronics, electronic actuators, electric machines, active power filters, interface converters between renewable energy sources and the electrical network and electrical installations. B To stimulate research and analysis of existing solutions in the fields of energy and power engineering, as well as to develop students' critical capacity for solutions and their interpretation of results. C ¿To develop the sensitivity of the students to the problems of energy quality, energy efficiency and harmonic distortion, among others.
Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
It is advised that this unit be given to students who already have a large part of their curricular path completed, since many of the tools taught during the course are used.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
There will be 4 hours of face-to-face lessons per week. In an initial phase, these times will have a more expositive character, during which will be approached introductory aspects of the programmatic contents. Once the projects allocated to the various groups have been defined (with a target of not more than 3 students), the teaching time will be more oriented towards the monitoring of the various projects. The evaluation will be done through the project report, which will be composed of two documents referring to the two works that will be assigned to each of the groups; and the horizontal presentation of each of the works. This last component is oriented individually for all students.
