Understand the tools available in the scope of Operational Research and its importance in the management decision making. For this, it is indispensable to know how to formulate the problem, how to model it, choose and apply the algorithm and interpret the results. Thus, the theoretical and mathematical definition of the different topics will be accompanied by the application of available computer tools.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The classes are theoretical-practical. The material is accompanied by exercises and use of appropriate software. The evaluation will be carried out according to the following principles: - The student can choose the evaluation in regime of continuous evaluation or by final examination; - The continuous evaluation, presupposes that the student is present in 75% of the classes taught; - 1 test is carried out in the scope of continuous evaluation; - The final mark in the continuous assessment regime will be the result of the following weighting: Final mark = (P & A + Case Study + Weekly reports) x40% + Test1 x 60% P & A Participation and attendance - to be awarded to the student corresponds to the grade obtained in the final exam.
