The main goal of Food and Nutritional Policy is to give an overview about the present food context through an historical perspective, food safety and food law.
Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
The student must be able to know about food history, about the present food safety context and the status of some products as functional food and food supplements as well as the nutrition and health claims legislation.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Lectures: with voluntary attendance, following the program set . Practical classes: tutorial aimed to consolidate the acquired knowledge, through the active participation of the student inn teaching - learning process: research, critical evaluation, analysis and transmission of scientific information about relevant themes to the curricular unit with nutritional impact. Presentation of seminars about important and current issues related to the curricular unit.
The evaluation scheme is preferentially of continuous nature, and it values (A) the assiduity (10%), (B) the execution, presentation and discussion of group work (45%), and (C) the realization of one global test (45%).
Final Evaluation Final = A (10%) + B (45%) + C (45%). The minimum admissible grade for the accounting effect is 10.
The final examination consists of a written test.
