Basic principles of nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics. Nutrigenetic analyzes. Gene-diet relationship. Examples of nutrigenetic application.Cancer and genotypes. Obesity and nutrigenomics. Ability and nutrigenetics. Future perspectives of molecular nutrition. Polymorphisms of different types ('' Single-nucleotide polymorphisms '', '' Copy-number variations ''). Methods and technologies used in nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics ('' qPCR '', '' microarrays '', immunoprecipitation of chromatin). Extraction of DNA and spectrophotometric quantification. Polymerase Chain Reaction for the presence of polymorphism associated with persistence of lactase. Agarose gel electrophoresis of PCR products and RFLP-Restriction fragment lenght polymorphysm reaction. RFLP products agarose gel electrophoresis. Real-time PCR for the detection of CNV polymorphism in the ¿-.
That allow the nutritionist to understand the interactions between diet and individuals at the molecular, cellular, organ and organ levels and the use of dietary components in the treatment of diseases.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Lectures: with voluntary attendance, following the program set . Pratical classes: tutorial aimed to consolidate the acquired knowledge, through the active participation of the student inn teaching - learning process: research, critical evaluation, analysis and transmission of scientific information about relevant themes to the curricular unit with nutrtional impact. Presentation of seminars about important and current issues related to the curricular unit. Evaluation by ''Continuous evaluation'' (written tests, participation and performance in individual or group projects) with the possibility of written final exam on the total programme in case of negative grade in ''Continuous evaluation'' system. The minimal grade allowed is 10.
