Objectives

  1. Understand the distinction and articulation between the three levels of intervention: individual, group and community;
  2. Provide the acquisition of knowledge (historical, theoretical and methodological) on the particularities of the community intervention process;
  3. Learn to characterize the community, understand the forces at work, the convergent and opposite dynamics in order to elaborate and update the diagnosis;
  4. Develop professional skills for intervention in communities;
  5. Learn to develop community intervention projects.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

Teaching: The syllabus of the UC will be presented using expository and interrogative methodologies, based on student participation. Existing technological equipment will be used in the classroom and debates will be promoted from texts and examples of community intervention projects selected by the teacher. There will also be a place for interaction with professionals working in community projects. Students are expected to present group work, , using new technologies and focusing on the development of oral skills and rules for the presentation of works.

 

Assessment: The assessment will be continuous, based on the following elements:

  1. Written individual test: 50%
  2. Group work with presentation and oral discussion in the classroom: 40%
  3. Active participation in classes (written / oral contributions): 10%
