Objectives
With the topics covered, the objectives of UC are:
- Provide knowledge of tools necessary to enable the professional performance of veterinarians in the context of livestock farms, regarding management and legal aspects involving the exploitation and transport of animals;
- Provide identification related information and procedures to provide the welfare of animals involved in production systems;
- Show methodologies to evaluate the efficiency of production systems;
- Study different animal species of interest, as the specific characteristics, nutritional management, and reproductive, as well as obtaining products.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
In continuous assessment and final exam, it is mandatory to attend at least 2/3 of the theoretical and practical classes. Students with the status of student worker and others applicable are applicable, to which a supplementary evaluation regime to be defined by the teacher is applied. For approval in continuous assessment, the student must obtain a grade equal to or higher than 9.5 in all theoretical assessments and in the practical component the student must have a minimum weighted average of 9.5. The final grade is the average of the theoretical and practical evaluation. Approves the student who obtains a final grade of not less than 9.5 values in the practical and theoretical components. Evaluation: Practical - group work 45% Theoretical : One written exam 45% and work in classroom 5%
