Started his academic career in a Law degree, later transferring to a degree in Cultural Communication, which he concluded in 2003. In that same year he had two solo exhibitions in The Netherlands (MK Galerie, Rotterdam, and Nouvelles Images, The Hague), and another in Lisbon, at Galeria Promonto?rio, as part of the parallel circuit of LisboaPhoto. It was also in 2003 that he was awarded the Grand Prix du 48eme Salon de Montrouge, in Paris.
After finishing the Advanced Course in Photography at Ar.Co ¿ Centro de Arte e Comunicac?a?o Visual in 2000, he started working with Mo?dulo ¿ Centro Difusor de Arte, where he exhibited individually in 2002, 2005 and 2006. In 2005, he took part in the Photography Course of the Creativity and Artistic Creation Programme of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. In this specialisation course, coordinated by Se?rgio Mah, he was tutored by Stephen Shore, Thomas Demand, Patrick Faigenbaum, Joan Fontcuberta, Ute Eskildsen, Paul Wombell, Teresa Hubbard and Alexander Birchler. Together with the other participants in the course, he formed DOZE, an association which, among other initiatives, carried out the residence project Paisagem e povoamento I [Landscape and Settlement 1], in Sines, and Paisagem e povoamento II [Landscape and Settlement 2], in Montemor-o-Novo, where he worked with Rodrigo Tavarela Peixoto.
From his group exhibitions, we highlight the 2004 exhibition On Side, at Centro de Artes Visuais, in Coimbra, and Casa da luz, Fundacion Foto Colectania, Barcelona; in 2005, Uma extensão do olhar, at Centro de Artes Visuais, Coimbra; in 2007, Homo Migratius, at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon; in 2009, Identity in Motion, at MK Galerie, Berlin; and in 2010, Impresiones y Comentarios ¿ Fotografi?a Contempora?nea Portuguesa, at Fundación Foto Colectania (Barcelona), and Do outro lado do Atlântico, at Centro de Artes He?lio Oiticica, Rio de Janeiro. He has been teaching in the photography course of the Instituto Polité cnico de Tomar since 2003 and is represented by Galeria Baginski, Lisbon, where he presented Do que nos lembramos quando nos lembramos de nós [What we remember when we remember us] in 2010. In 2012 he was nominated for the 8th Edition of the BES PHOTO AWARD.
