  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The basic objective is the enlightenment of the architect¿s intervention in the territory with a broader sense of knowledge, method, and responsibility.

    The specific objective of the course is to lead the students to create their own reflection in different problems and contexts, through their experimentation in methodology and in the critical reflection that he/she demonstrates trough concrete proposals.

    The emphasis placed on the relations between architecture and the different spaces and territories will be central to achieve this objective, so as to understand the built and inhabited territory in an integrated way and tending towards sustainable development.

    The assignments developed during the semester allow the student to apply the knowledge acquired during the process and achieve a critical operative level.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Being the discipline both of theoretical and practical nature, the teaching methodology results from a combination of:

    A) theoretical classes;

    B) classes taught by guests of the specialty;

    C) study visits or attendance at conferences related to the subjects under study;

    D) tutorial orientation and phased presentations of the developed works.

    Being the discipline both of theoretical and practical nature, the assessment, being process-oriented, should verify the progression of the individual competencies in three complementary pedagogical levels in view of the autonomy of the student:

    1. informative (basic level)

    2. analytical/critical (medium level)

    3. operative (high level - autonomy)

    The general evaluation criteria result from a combination of:

    ¿ continuous assessment (20%), which includes attendance, assertiveness, evolution and elaboration of exercises carried out in class and/or reports about the topics addressed in class or in study visits.

    ¿ a group work (30%)

    ¿ an individual work (50%)
