The CU seeks to provide students with practical skills in qualitative data analysis. It focuses on the application of different analysis techniques and, specifically, on two methodologies most directly related to the field of psychology: interpretative phenomenological analysis and narrative analysis.

Objectives
Objectives
LO1. Strengthen understanding the steps, procedures, and assumptions of qualitative research methodology (QRM), content analysis, thematic analysis, and grounded analysis techniques. LO2. Master the fundamentals and practical application of two qualitative analysis methodologies relevant to psychology - Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) and Narrative Analysis (NA), using Nvivo. LO3. Recognize, correctly use, and exploit advanced Nvivo features (such as Queries) to organize and interpret qualitative data. LO4. Interpret results in the context of the QRM studied and prepare a complete qualitative research work, integrating the tools and methodologies learned.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies (TM) promote active learning, the construction of knowledge and the development of practical skills. The interactive exposition (TM1) provides solid theoretical foundations, and the interactive dialogue (TM2) complements it, promoting the collaborative construction of knowledge. The practical example cases (TM3) promote the understanding of the application of different methods/techniques of qualitative data analysis, and the interactive practical activities in the laboratory (TM4) involve students directly in the procedures of the qualitative analysis methodologies covered. Guided demonstration (TM5) and guided tutorials (TM6) support the application of research techniques. The "hands-on" technique (TM7) involves students in practical procedures, being complemented by the guided practical project (TM8). Mentoring (TM9) ensures continuous monitoring and feedback, guiding the coding and critical reflection process. .
