    The discipline of Research and Investigation Methods aims to provide students with a solid introduction to the concepts, techniques, and stages of scientific research applied to the Social Sciences, particularly to the field of Communication. Research methods have a wide scope, applicable in different sectors and industries. This UC seeks to develop students' skills and strategies to conduct authentic and reliable research, as well as the use of specific analytical techniques associated with the main research methods, which can be applied both in practical market contexts and in academic studies. At the end of the discipline, students will be proficient in employing appropriate methodological approaches, collecting data accurately, analyzing information rigorously, and presenting well-founded results, contributing to the development of relevant and well-grounded investigations.

    • To acquire knowledge of the concepts, paradigms, methods, and techniques of scientific research, particularly in the field of Communication.
    • To develop skills in preparing, presenting, and evaluating properly structured scientific reports.
    • To be proficient in conducting literature searches, creating, and organizing bibliographic research through consulting various sources and databases.
    • To foster cross-cutting competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, and professional ethics.
    • To learn to effectively communicate research findings both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Problem-Based Learning (PBL). With this pedagogical approach, the program aims to engage students in meaningful learning experiences, encouraging them to face authentic and relevant current problems. Students are encouraged to apply critical thinking throughout the investigative process. This approach develops essential skills for students' academic and professional lives.
