    1.2 - Before and after MTV, music video as a television genre.

    1.3 - The music video on the internet and social networks - New models of production, creation and dissemination.

    2. Aesthetics.

    2.1 - The music video as a conceptual and artistic object.

    2.2 - The music video and experimentation.

    2.3 - The music video and narrative.

    2.4 - The music video and visual effects, magic and Michel Gondry.

    2.5 - A disruptive language as a design model.

    3. Language.

    II - Conceive and produce.

    1. Creative processes for creating music videos.

    2. Artistic elements of music video production.

    3. Pitching of visual concepts applied to music videos.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

    In the current context of audiovisual production, it is essential to encourage students to develop creative, conceptual, and collaborative processes. In this curricular unit the students develop a music video, organized in creative teams, and for a specific band or artist.

    The creative process takes place in the pedagogical space of the discipline, in the relationship with the band / artist and transversally through the collaboration of other disciplines of the semester.

    The objectives of the UC are:

    To develop knowledge in history, aesthetics, and language of the music video.

    Acquire skills in the conceptual and creative development of an artistic project.

    Acquire skills in collaborative creation and the presentation of conceptual and production proposals.

    Acquire and apply relevant image and editing techniques for creating music videos.

    Develop the ability to conceive and produce a music video.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Expository and project-oriented teaching methodology with strong articulation between the involvement of students in the project development process and the application of the theoretical concepts taught.

    Evaluation model oriented towards the evaluation of the ability to acquire skills and not towards the final intrinsic quality of the projects developed.

    The final grade is calculated as follows:

    70% of the final grade that corresponds to the development, production and presentation of a music video. This assessment includes a peer assessment through the response to a form that adjusts the final assessment according to the student's individual participation in the group project.

    10% Pitching’s and production documentation.

    20% Paper that relates the project developed to the state of the art in music videos.
