  • Presentation

    Presentation

In this discipline students have the opportunity to put into practice all the acquired knowledge, both practical and theoretical, so far.

In this unit, students produce a short group animation. This goes through all the stages of a professional production, from the conception of the film's idea to its final animation.

Working as an animation production team, students are introduced to the genres of cinema (horror, comedy, drama, etc.) we can develop one of these themes in their projects.

During the semester, students 'projects are presented publicly in an assessment pitch where commentary and criticism help students' learning.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

Apply an idea / concept / story to the production of an animated short film.

Development of previous concepts that allow an efficient execution of the various stages of the process.

Focus and openness to the natural evolution of the project.

Build argument, graphic dossier, storyboard and animatic for final projects according to the chosen theme.

Creatively mix different types of image (photography, film, drawing)

The topic for the animation project is flexible, but it must address a characters's or event’s development, both internally (in an abstract or experimental way) and externally (figuratively). Applying this approach, students practice to think and use the specific language of animation in order to depict inner conflicts, struggles or desires, which are not visible to the eye. Combining this approach with figurative elements, the student get to investigate and experiment with the animation medium in order to evoke specific emotional responses.
