The European Union (EU) is one of the most complex institutional regions in the world. The structuring policies of the system and its range of action are undeniable in Europe and in the world. This course aims to describe and analyze these two aspects, focusing on the competences, objectives, functioning, evolution, and relationship between EU policies and European and international institutions.

Objectives
The aim is to describe and analyze the construction of the single market, acknowledge the complexity of the system, address and describe its trade, industrial, and transport policies; explain the evolution, meaning, and consequences of the Common Agricultural Policy; address and interpret the social dimension of the EU, and examine and explain the new paradigms of the system.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Debates, simulations and written exercises in class will be a driving force of the methodologies supporting the teaching-learning process. Lectures and/or study visits, with reports, will bring students closer to the tasks they will perform in their future professions.
