The course introduces students to the main paradigms and theories of International Relations. Broadly, the approach is historical, thus providing students insight as to how IR theory evolved. Various theories within the idealist, realist, neo-realist and other paradigms will be considered so that students may develop a critical view of the main approaches to thinking about International Relations.

Objectives
Objectives
Acquisition of specialized competencies in the field of international politics. Capacity to interpret the interaction between IR actors and to understand the paradigms and theories dominant in the study of International Relations. To develop skills and conceptual tools for understanding the evolution of IR as an academic discipline. Acquire interpretative tools to better comprehend problematics in international politics. Prepare students to undertake critical analysis of the international system, including the problems of integration and interdependence. To prepare students for work in the various area of International Relations, particularly for diplomatic and NGO activity.
