Explanation of Concepts in the Context of UC, Science and Criteria of Cientificidade. Program / Research Project and Stages of Scientific Work: Choice of a subject / object of analysis; Problem formulation / question of departure; Formulation of problems / hypotheses; Exploration / problematization; Elaboration of a plan / construction of the analysis model; Analysis of information; Conclusions. ¿Bibliographic science: Methodology for research / research; Sources / information systems. Citations and bibliographical references and other documentary collections; Paraphrase; Plagiarism; paratextual elements; Methods / systems of reference of sources. Scientific writing. ¿Content Analysis: Organization and planning; Coding; Categorization; Quantitative analysis vs qualitative analysis. ¿Methodological and Scientific Structuring of a Scientific Project / Master Thesis.
At the end of this curricular unit, the master's degree should be able to: Know how to identify its perimeter of research interest; Know how to identify and apply the internationally used standards in the respective area of research; Know how to identify and apply the best international practices of your area of research interest.
Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
To know how to evaluate the Scientific Institutions, Publications and Events of the respective area of research interest; Know how to compose and submit to peer appreciation the documents representative of their research output, namely papers, work-in-progress reports, technical reports, and final dissertation.
