The following may apply for the Master Programme:
a) Students who hold a bachelor degree or legal equivalent degree; primarily in the area of physical education and sport and sport science;
b) Students who hold a B.A., people who have an especially relevant school or scientific curriculum that is acknowledged as certifying capacity to obtain this study cycle by the Master Programme's Scientific Committee;
c) Students who have a school, scientific and professional curriculum that is acknowledged as certifying capacity to obtain this study cycle by the Master Programme¿s Scientific Committee.

We search to match the need for an updated and scientifically based knowledge on a specific area of sportthe football¿from the accumulated and under construction expertise, we see in Theory and Methodology of Training, in the so designated ¿Sport Sciences¿, in the new information technologies, in the observation and in the scientific research methodology.
The knowledge of the acquisition and development of skills necessary for the trainers to perform their duties from youth sport to high performance. We aim at contributing at a national and international level, especially in the Portuguese-speaking countries, to the scientific and pedagogical training of competent and skilled coaches/trainers, enabling them to reflect, evaluate and innovate their practices of football training , putting them under perspective as a means of personal and social development.
Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
The course aims to promote in students the harmonious development of knowledge and skills necessary for the proper performance of the function of a football coach, from youth to high performance, namely: Using as a fundamental means of exercise training intervention;
Promote the knowledge of their specialty within the scientific, pedagogical and didactic knowledge in an integrated manner;
Specifically, it is expected that the student dominates and list the contents of the Training Theory of soccer in historical, technical, tactical and organizational plans;
It is intended that the student acquire knowledge, skills and competencies that allow them to organize and plan the process of prescribing and managing preparation training programs, control and evaluate the process of training and competition, applying critical and properly own knowledge of football.
