Documentary about Gustave Eiffel talks about the French engineer and the mark he left in Portugal.

17.01.23 - 15h47

Gustave Eiffel left his name in history with the symbol of Paris and France around the world, the Eiffel Tower. In addition to this masterpiece of modern engineering, the French engineer designed and supervised around 350 works all over the world and revolutionized metallurgical engineering with innovative techniques.

It was for the Companhia Real dos Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses - the second largest client of Casa Eiffel - that Gustave built around 80 works, two of which were essential in his career, and gathered what would become his dream team, made up of great engineers who designed the main works of Eiffel & Cia.

And this story so full of richness became the subject of the documentary “Eiffel & Cia in Portugal: Will of Iron” by filmmaker Mário J. Negrão, which brings, as an important informative part, an interview with the Professor and Director of the Degree and Masters in Engineering Civilian at Universidade Lusófona, Elói Figueiredo, and testimonials from several Master's students.

The documentary was shown on the last January 10th, but is [available to the public on the broadcaster's website](https://www.rtp.pt/play/p11255/e664823/eiffel-e-cia-em-portugal- iron will).

The iron and fire revolution passed through Portugal, but it was born in a small French province. With sensitivity and an iron will, Eiffel conquered eternity.
