Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
On 23 July 2025, the Porto University Centre of Universidade Lusófona hosted the first edition of the Community of Practice. The concept of a Community of Practice, developed in the 1990s, is based on the collaboration of a group of people who come together to explore common interests and exchange experiences.
This event honoured that tradition by bringing together researchers interested in literacies to discuss ideas and share knowledge. During this edition, several innovative projects targeting different audiences were presented, including “Children and Journalism”, by Ana Cátia Ferreira (Fernando Pessoa University):
- “Youth and Climate Action”, by Daniela Ferreira da Silva (University of Minho)
- “Seniors and Disinformation”, by Claudilene Perim (Universidade Lusófona – Lisbon University Centre)
- “People with Disabilities, Accessibility and Board Games”, by Carla Sousa and Cátia Casimiro (Universidade Lusófona – Lisbon University Centre)
This event is linked to the PhD Programme in Communication and Activisms at Universidade Lusófona – Porto University Centre and to the MeLCi Lab – Media Literacy and Civic Cultures Lab. The Community of Practice represents a valuable opportunity to foster synergies and collaborations among researchers, contributing to the advancement of literacies in society.
