Join the grand opening of Crescine, taking place at the Cannes Film Festival.
The ambitious three-year initiative, supported by Horizon Europe, aims to reshape the landscape of the European film and audiovisual industry. With a focus on increasing the sector's competitiveness and cultural diversity, Crescine is built on the collective experience of a consortium representing the best of Europe's cinema, innovation and research ecosystem.
The project was presented by Manuel José Damásio, Director of the Department of Cinema and Media Arts at Universidade Lusófina/ FilmEU and Coordinator of Crescine, Indrek Ibrus, Professor of Media Innovation, University of Tallinn, Jakob Isak Nielsen, Associate Professor , Aarhus Universitet, Ti Raats, Associate Professor/Principal Investigator, IMEC-SMIT-VUBVrije Univeriteit Brussel, Jaka Primorac, IRMO Croatia, Vejune Zemaityte, University of Tallinn. Crescine's main objective is to empower and transform the film industry in small markets in European countries. Focus territories are Estonia, Lithuania, Denmark, Ireland, Belgium (Flanders), Croatia and Portugal.
Crescine is moving the process forward through the launch of the State of European Film platform, an unparalleled data analysis tool that presents comprehensive, actionable data and recommendations to reinvigorate the European audiovisual ecosystem.
