Research Receives Distinction from “Microorganisms Journal”

The article, "Applications of Essential Oils as Antibacterial Agents in Minimally Processed Fruits and Vegetables - A Review", has taken centre stage in the academic and scientific community worldwide.

Professors Maria Isabel S. Santos, Cátia Marques, Joana Mota, Laurentina Pedroso and Ana Lima from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universidade Lusófona achieved the remarkable achievement of publishing the most cited article of the year 2022 in the scientific journal Microorganisms, from the Swiss publisher Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), with 13 citations.

The article Applications of Essential Oils as Antibacterial Agents in Minimally Processed Fruits and Vegetables — The Review (Applications of Essential Oils as Antibacterial Agents in Minimally Processed Fruits and Vegetables - A Review), was published on March 31, 2022, with a new Impact Index ( IF) of 4.5 and the magazine's most recent CiteScore, with 6.4, taking a prominent position in the academic and scientific community on a global level.
