III International Congress of Osteopathy

At the III International Osteopathy Congress, it was possible to understand the true multidisciplinary facet of the area. The main purpose of this event is related to the sharing and discussion of knowledge and discoveries among specialists in the osteopathic field. The III International Congress of Osteopathy served as a basis for updating knowledge on matters and pioneering investigations presented by the speakers. Interaction with the public was also possible through spaces for questions.

The event took place between the 19th and 20th of May in the Agostinho da Silva auditorium and was attended by students, professionals in the field and scholars with an interest in the subject.

On the first day, we had interventions such as: “A MOUTH”, by Dr. Rita Sousa Tavares (Dentist), “Headache and related symptoms - Osteopathic Approach” with Professor Victor Castro (PhD), Coordinator of the Degree Course in Osteopathy at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Vale do Ave (ESSVA) of the Polytechnic Institute of Saúde do Norte, “Temporomandibular Joint - Headache and related symptoms - Osteopathic Approach” by Professor Pierre Dugailly (PhD), Adjunct Professor of the Degree in Osteopathy at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Vale do Ave (ESSVA), at the Polytechnic Institute de Saúde do Norte, among other equally important participations.

The second day of activities had a more practical format with several workshops related to the area, from: "how to identify and analyze the membranous arch of the patient's skull from an osteopathic perspective" to "skull asymmetry should be our biomechanical benchmark?”.
