23.01.23 - 10h51The Institute of Social Work, given the scenario of an aging world population, held an open class for Social Work students and interested parties with the theme “Experiences of Social Intervention with Older People”.
Held on the 10th of January and organized by Ana Paula Garcia, Auxiliary Professor at the Institute of Social Work at Lusófona University, the main objective of the event was to raise awareness among future professionals in the area about how intervention in Social Gerontology assumes a very important role. significant impact on the care and quality of life of users and also reflect on specificities and significant intervention experiences with older people.
As guest speakers, Hugo Caixaria (Social Worker at the Rainha Dona Maria I Day Center and Espaço Interage at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa), Paula Seno (Social Worker at the Parish Council of Alvalade) and Teresa Pires ( Social Worker at the Solidarity Cooperative Os Amigos de Semper).
To close, there was also a debate moderated by Madalena Baeta, Carolina Ramalho and Bruna Pereira.
