Lusófona innovates in automation and robotics in Veterinary
Veterinary Medicine (FMV) is a pioneer in advanced diagnostics of 3D imaging.

The Sto. Estevão from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universidade Lusófona implemented a pioneering system in advanced 3D imaging diagnosis, the first in higher education institutions in Veterinary Medicine in Europe.
This system that includes Direct Digital X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Tomosynthesis and Computed Tomography (CT) in horses allows to obtain 3D images in a horse in station, not being necessary, for most exams, to place the animal under general anesthesia.
From a clinical diagnostic imaging point of view, we can visualize never-before-seen images that allow us to find new specific anomalies and characterize them.
The capacity for resolution and accuracy of 3D and 2D images is much greater, which allows for the identification of injuries at earlier stages and for preventing situations that could be fatal to the horse.
Also one of the biggest opportunities resulting from 3D imaging will be a huge revolution in pedagogical terms in teaching and a huge potential in studies and research.
Universidade Lusófona is innovating in automation and robotics in Veterinary Medicine, being a pioneer in this type of equipment in Portugal, Europe and even in the world and we are aware of the enormous potential for the development of future projects.
