Open Class "From Project to Work: Devices for Living"
Architect João Paulo Loureiro invited to tell students about the reality of the professional world.
05.12.23 - 13h01On November 27, an open class was held on the theme "From Project to Work: Devices for Living". This session is part of a series of classes that invite someone of reference in the field of architecture, focusing on explaining the process of transition from project to work. Open classes for this purpose are part of an initiative by the Lusófona University and take place once or twice a month.
The topics covered in the sessions vary, relating to the experience and works being developed by architects and teachers. They are also linked to a fundamental experience in the course, which consists of visiting works in progress.
In the session on the 27th, the guest was João Paulo Loureiro, an architect with 30 years' experience who was able to convey to the students the reality of the professional world, moving from design theory to practice. In this particular class, the architect presented a student residence that would be visited the following week. The main theme of the lesson was housing, a topic of extreme relevance in the country, given the housing shortage. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to ask the guest teacher questions.
Professors Graça Correia Ragazzi and Isabel Clara Neves, the organizers of this initiative proposed by Lusófona University, revealed that these classes have had a remarkable impact on architecture students.
