On 22 May 2024, Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre hosted the Final Pitch of the "Play Your Idea 2024" competition. Promoted by PLAY - Lusófona University's Creative and Technological Incubator, the competition aimed to boost entrepreneurship and the development of innovative projects. With the support of partner companies such as CGD and CGI Portugal, the event promoted new ideas and stimulated the entrepreneurial spirit.

The event was structured in three distinct phases. The first phase consisted of filling in a form to submit ideas, open to all members of the Portuguese-speaking community. In the intermediate phase, 30 projects were selected for further development. In the final stage, only the 10 best ideas were presented to potential investors.

The competition brought together students, teachers, investors and representatives from partner companies. Each team had the opportunity to pitch their idea, presenting not only the concept, but also the implementation plans and market potential.

The finalist projects covered a variety of sectors, from technology and sustainability to health and education. The presentations demonstrated the participants' commitment to innovative solutions to contemporary challenges, highlighting the crucial role of university incubators in shaping future entrepreneurial leaders.

At the end of the presentations, the judges deliberated and announced the winners of the competition, recognising the projects that stood out most for their originality, feasibility and potential impact. The winners received prizes and mentoring and networking opportunities with partner companies, providing a significant boost to the materialisation of their ideas.

Sebastião Coelho, from the 2nd year of the Management Informatics degree programme, with the project ‘Health Diary’ - an application where users record health data (such as blood pressure) on a daily basis and the doctor has access to this record in an easy and accurate way, came first in this edition of Play Your Idea.
