On 19 May, Lusófona University - Porto University Centre hosted the seminar Young Summit: Youth Entrepreneurship, an initiative of the Faculty of Economic, Social and Business Sciences (FCESE), organised by students from the Bachelor's Degrees in Management, Commercial Management, Human Resources Management and Development, Civil Engineering, and the Master's Degree in Management and Innovation in Tourism and Hospitality.

This conference raised young people's awareness of the opportunities and challenges associated with entrepreneurship in the current context, encouraging reflection on the role of the young entrepreneur in contemporary society, as well as the skills considered essential for the creation and development of entrepreneurial projects, such as resilience, leadership, critical thinking, and adaptability.

Lara Silva, a student on the Bachelor's Degree in Management, highlighted the purpose of the event, stating that its objective “is to bring people closer to the real world, especially students, and to provide knowledge, experiences, and conversations that only happen outside the classroom”. “Ultimately, this is where theory comes to life,” she explained, adding that the organisation of the event “was a challenge”, but also “a wonderful experience”, marked by learning and the creation of new connections among participants.

Among the speakers were João Moreira, founder of CASEOVER, who focused his contribution on the importance of starting entrepreneurial activities at an early age; Luís Gouveia, founder of CLOUDFY, who demonstrated how technological innovation creates solutions that simplify business operations; Benvinda Silva, Board Member and Head of Administrative and Financial Management at Silva & Vinha, S.A., who shared her experience in management and leadership; and Nelson Guimarães, founder of NG Cosmetics, who focused on the challenges of entrepreneurship. The event also featured contributions from João Seagull, CEO of Seagmedia, and Diogo Leal, founder and CEO of Wavely.

The initiative also sought to contribute to networking opportunities and the identification of relevant business opportunities, encouraging autonomy, creativity, and initiative as essential skills for building professional careers and developing personal projects.
