Resume

PhD in Psychology (Feb 2020, ISCTE-IUL) and Master in Community Psychology and Child Protection (2010, ISCTE-IUL), Cláudia Camilo is currently a post-doc researcher working on parenting issues in risk contexts. Her research activities focus on understanding the neuro and socio-cognitive bases of parenting, especially in disadvantaged contexts, and developing evidence-based interventions with parents and professionals with innovative approaches to community problems. Her research interests are focused on family and parent-child relationships, specifically in maladaptive parenting, children and families in need, implicit measures applied to parenting, assessment protocols of child maltreatment and neglect, and professional training in these domains. She is co-PI of a research project exploring victimization from childhood to adulthood and is involved in the designing, implementation, and evaluation of a new intervention program directed to residential childcare professionals - e-Qual. Cláudia has published 14 scientific papers (6 more under review), and 4 book chapters. In addition, she has advanced in specific training (e.g., data modeling) and (co)supervised 10 Masters' students (10 concluded, 2 on-going). She has also consolidated her knowledge on systematic review and meta-analyses techniques, which resulted in several collaborations with other research teams, and in the teaching of methods courses. Establishing connections between research and intervention, she has organized several scientific events, and disseminated her work in diverse scientific (17 oral presentations, 9 poster presentations) and non-scientific events/platforms (workshops to professionals), targeting diverse audiences. Cláudia also coordinates a partnership with the Child & Family Training (UK), to translate and adapt to Portugal a set of Intervention Guides for professionals in child protection services, and their respective training modules. She is currently teaching at ULHT and Faculty of Psychology, University of Lisbon.
