Public Administration

Presentation

The degree in CPRI account, among its objectives, the development of skills for integration into the labour market. This C.U., to ensure comprehensive vision of Public Administration and of the eus management tools, enables students to enter the State organisations, Local Authorities and the Third Sector, as technicians, managers and consultants able from: understanding the phenomenon of the Public Administration, in its multiple facets, and modern solutions for the provision of public goods; conceive, plan and implement strategies for the organization of public administration; learn to solve problems in partnership and consultation; communicate and lead projects and processes, applying own knowledge and congregating outside contributions in complex contexts and different cultural sensitivities; assist different instances and gestionárias policies.

Objectives

The u. c. Policy-Administration relations perspective, ready for integration in the various administrations, seeks to:

  •  Revisit the theory of power and identify the political system
  •  Characterize the administrative system vis-à-vis the political system;
  • Analyze the complexity of the administrative system;
  • Point out the role of top management and your eventual exploitation;
  •  Distinguish and feature the different public administrations;
  •  Start the study of sectoral administrations;
  •  Appreciating the issues of ethics of public administration;

At the conclusion of the course, students should be able to: 

  • Master the concepts; 
  • Thematic debate; 
  •  Working as a team; Drafting texts; 
  •  Present and defend knowledge vis-à-vis third parties; 
  •  To assist the administrative and political bodies.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

The UC has strong theoretical foundations but also prepare for easy integration in a work context. Thus, skills are acquired through personal and group work, interactive and participatory methods. Exhibition, supported in ppt, followed by a debate, with practical cases. Analysis on groups provides enrichment of annotations and understanding of the issues raised. Each student systematizes the elements of study, organising your ' Binder ', with accompanying tutorial.
The evaluation is continuous - including self-evaluation at the end of the U.S. C- and takes into account: 1) quality of participation (20%): Attendance, punctuality, participation interest; seizure; small individual jobs; assessing the ' Binder '; 2) Job Group (20%), exploring in detail the theme to share with colleagues; 3) final exam (60%); Still expected exam, for those who do not demonstrate utilization in continuous assessment.
