Objectives

At the end of the unit, students will be able to: conceptually approach investment decision problems; prepare the elements for investment analysis; select and apply appropriate techniques for economic and financial analysis; select and apply suitable techniques for risk analysis of investments; evaluate and select solutions for project financing; organize and control the execution of investments.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

Classes will be theoretical and practical. In the lectures, the essential concepts and techniques applied in investment analysis will be presented and described. The presentation of the far field will be based on the basic literature established and previously communicated to the students. Students are encouraged to participate in the discussion of concepts and their application. The practical classes are based on the resolution of issues and case studies illustrating the application of those concepts and techniques in current situations of investment analysis in organizations.

Continuous assessment will be supported on the following components:

- Two individual written tests that will address theoretical and practical aspects.
