Organisational Behaviour: Individuals and Groups
Presentation
Organizational Behavior prepares students to better analyze and understand individual, group and organizational behavior. It gives them an insight into the evolution of the various types of management and the schools associated with them. It shows students the theories of motivation and their effect on productivity. The concepts of perception, attitude and behavior are analyzed. The various theories of leadership, communication, and change are addressed. Relevance - all these areas help to better manage people in organizations.

Syllabus
The construct organizational behavior: emergence and development. Epistemological levels of analysis.
The individual in the organization: aptitudes, attitudes, personality, emotions.
Perceptual perception and bias, causal attribution, learning. Influence of the processes of perception and
learning in people management.
Motivation and satisfaction in the workplace - the psychological contract and work life balance. Engagement. Organizational well-being vs Stress/Burnout.
Group and teams: structures and processes, phases. Modes of interaction and group efficiency. The Concept of Syndrome
group (groupthink).
Leadership: from theories and classic models to contingencies. Technological models: determinants of the efficiency of
groups.
Organizational climate and people involvement.
Communication in organizations: basic aspects of communication; barriers to communication; dimension
ethical.
The organization facing the challenges of change: complexity management and sustainable development.
Objectives
The curricular unit - Organizational Behavior aims to:
To deepen the psycho / sociological side of organizational theory;
Understand the importance of individual, groupal and organizational behavior;
Provide students with knowledge and tools for professional practice and for individual and group.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Theoretical-practical expositions. Individual and group work to solve practical cases to be defined by the teacher. Continuous assessment: Two continuous assessment tests that correspond to 25% each; Group work, with presentations in class equivalent to 30%; Participation in class 20%.
