    The semester theme is Landscape. The UC contents are:

    1. Notion of Landscape: - historical background - recent developments and developments.

    2. The importance of linear perspective and aerial perspective as graphic representation strategies in Landscape design:

    - real space and graphic space;

    - depth indicators;

    - composition and structure;

    - scale; - tonal values;

    - Details. Exercises:

    - 4 drawings on A2 paper based on the observation of an image selected by the student using graphite, colored pencil, watercolor and Indian ink (wash and/or pen) techniques.

    - 30 outdoor drawings about Landscape – sketching – for a Graphic Diary/ journey  diary (2 drawings per week).A4 our bigger.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

    This UC aims to:

    - Stimulate interest in landscape design and develop graphic representation skills in the student

    - Develop graphic representation strategies in landscape design

    - Review and deepen specific knowledge in the context of perspective drawing, continuing the Drawing I discipline

    - Reinforce autonomy in carrying out artistic projects (graphic diary as an individual project)

    - Stimulate the daily practice of drawing At the end of this UC, students must:

    - Master the graphic means of drawing, by learning and applying graphic techniques (water washes and scribes) such as graphite, colored pencils, watercolor and Chinese ink.

    - Develop drawings by direct observation and manual image transfer processes

    - Develop aesthetic and artistic autonomy through the authorial creation of a graphic diary that coincides with the idea of ¿¿a travel notebook

    - Understand the landscape as a concept and as a genre

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    This CU is developed with the accompaniment of two teachers in two different exercises, having in common the tutorial monitoring of homework. The theme of landscape is transversal to the semester and students develop their knowledge in both Painting and Drawing. In drawing, 4 assignments are carried out with specific graphic techniques whose objective is the technical mastery and the mastery of graphic and representation skills, but also the ability to apply intellectualised content, namely aerial and geometric perspective, gradation of tone, the difference of scale according to planes, framing. The understanding of the atmospheric environment through tones and the blurring of contours is also stimulated. Students are tutored according to the images they choose to transpose into drawing and collective critical debates are held with swat analysis to refine vocabulary and discourse.
