It's intended to expose, analyze and discuss the methodologies and instruments used in neuropsychological assessment in different areas of brain functioning. Practical classes based on the application, quotation and interpretation of neuropsychological test results. The UC assessment tools are related to clinical practice and constitute a preparation for the completion of the 2nd year internship.

1.Historical overview of neuropsychology and neuropsychological assessment 2.Neuropsychological Assessment -Introduction -Evaluation Process -Clinical history -Physical and neurological exploration -Neuropsychological Study 3.Specific tests to assess the main cognitive functions -Orientation -Attention -Perception -Memory -Communication and Language -Praxias -Gnosias -Executive Functions 4.Administration and Interpretation of results. The preparation of the report. 5.Criteria for the selection of neuropsychological tests.
Objectives
- Acquire knowledge regarding the stages of the neuropsychological assessment process. - Promote the acquisition of knowledge concerning the main specific tests used in neuropsychological assessment. - Provide knowledge related to the criteria for the selection of neuropsychological tests. - Generate skills related to the application, quotation and interpretation of the results of the main neuropsychological tests. - Provide students with the skills necessary to prepare a neuropsychological assessment report.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
In order to facilitate the learning process, the teaching methodology assumes a theoretical and practical character. After the theoretical exposition of the syllabus, they will be approached in a practical aspect that includes the handling of tests, roleplay and application exercises, quotation and interpretation of results and training in the preparation of neuropsychological evaluation reports. The evaluation includes the elaboration of two semester papers (50% + 50%). Attendance at classes is required. Performance at different assessment times is expected to ensure the acquisition of skills required for u.c. As a final grade, the student must have a minimum grade of 10 points. The final evaluation consists of a written exam (100%) that includes the theoretical and practical syllabus.
