Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy
Presentation
This CU provides in-depth and detailed knowledge regarding assessment and intervention in the area of ¿¿cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies. In the first cycle of studies, students had access to basic knowledge about psychopathology and psychological assessment and, even, an introduction to cognitive-behavioral therapies in the 3rd year. However, in the Master of Cibertherapy and neurocognitive rehabilitation, this Unit proves to be crucial for students to learn the conceptualization and formulation of clinical cases in the light of this model and to train assessment / intervention skills and strategies that will be used in their contexts of work and internship. This unit has a solid theoretical and integrative character, but also a practical component that will enable students to perform quality functions in most of the workplaces in our country (eg hospitals, health centers, IPSS, institutions training).

Recommended complementary curricular units
For the total integration of the knowledge and skills acquired in this unit, it is fundamental that students might master the Portuguese and / or English language. In turn, it is important that students have taken advantage of the subjects of the first cycle of studies in Psychology of the EPCV (or similar, in the case of students from other universitary institutions) dedicated to the fundamentals of clinical evaluation and intervention, such as: Psychopathology (2nd year), Clinical and Health Psychology (3rd year), Psychopathology of Human Development (3rd year - optional), Psychological evaluation (3rd year), Psychometry (3rd year). Preferably, this unit should be given subsequently to the units of Examination and psychological consultation (adult and child / adolescent) and psychopathology (adult and child (adolescent)

For this will be used various pedagogical activities such as case studies, simulations, role-playing, group work, among others. Continuous evaluation will have three mandatory evaluation elements: 1) Written test (40% weighting); 2) Oral work in groups of two students with the presentation of therapeutic intervention technique (s) and their demonstration in class through role-playing (30%); 3) Written work on the conceptualization and definition of an intervention plan in the light of CBT (30%). This work will be carried out in articulation with the unit of Systemic, Dynamic and Support Psychotherapies. The final evaluation will consist of a written exam with a weighting of 100%.
