Objectives

The Course Unit aims to offer an institutional experience in Clinical and Health Psychology, in order to carry out a supervised practice that is in accordance with the knowledge acquired in other curricular units. It also aims to provide students with training in the diagnosis, evaluation, implementation of treatment and prevention programs, and evaluation of the results. It also aims to teach integration in multidisciplinary teams. The conceptualization, development, and accomplishment of an internship project in an institution, supervised in seminar classes, allows the student to obtain the integration and application of the acquired knowledge, being able, in this way, to establish competencies that will lead to an effective intervention in the organizations where he comes to work.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

The internship seminar takes place in small group classes supervised by a teacher. It is intended to be a space for questioning about the integration in the institution, evaluation, and intervention with patients. The pedagogical strategy consists of theoretical lecture classes and practical classes, case discussion seminars, role-playing as well as oral and written presentation of case reports. The student is assessed according to his final internship report (100%). Attendance is mandatory. The approval of the UC depends on the assessment of the advisory teacher and after hearing the institutional advisor and will consider the attendance and the final oral evaluation of the report of the internship before a jury according to the regulations of the internship seminar.
