Social and Labour Values and Organizational Culture
Presentation
The overall objective of this CU is to provide students with a theoretical framework that provides an understanding of social and work values and their relationship to organizational culture. This course also proposes that students consider and reflect on the relationship between social values, attitudes, and ethics, as well as on group dynamics and organizational citizenship behaviors, on political power and influence on organizations, as well as organizational socialization.

Objectives
At the end of the semester, students should be able to: describe what social values are and use a theoretical framework for value analysis; describe patterns of cultural organization of values and identify cultural differences and similarities; explain how values may be associated with attitudes and behaviors; diagnose the power and influence games at the interindividual and intergroup level observable in organizations and group dynamics and the results of organizational citizenship behaviors; identify models, strategies and tactics for integrating new candidates into organizations.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The UC adopts a teaching-learning methodology based on the exposure of theoretical content,
accompanied by debate and practical exercises (expository, participatory and active methodologies). The
preparation of materials (especially scientific articles) is expected for presentation and debate in class.
Some classes will be taught online.
Continuous assessment consists of:
a) written review and oral presentation of a text, to be selected (20%);
b) group work - analysis of practical case with presentation in class (15%);
c) individual written essay (60%)
d) class participation (5%)
Continuous assessment depends on the presence and participation in 80% of classes
