Syllabus

Conceptualization ¿ choice of theme, its pertinence and theoretical-conceptual framework ¿ definition of the problem and access to the terrain ¿ definition and negotiation of roles (from the researcher) ¿ Choice of methods and techniques of collection and analysis-methodology Qualitative-Quantitative methodology ¿ operationalization of the research process (phases of the process) ¿ the selection of the universe and sample ¿ the proposal (preliminary draft of research) ¿ The drafting process: construction of discourse; Drafting styles, common mistakes.

Objectives

Understanding the research process in the social sciences devise a research plan;

Know the virtualities and constraints of the various techniques of collection and analysis of data and latest innovations;

Know how to analyse the quality of research projects;

Know how to elaborate a dissertation preliminary draft.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

Expert exhibitions; Discussion of previously prepared content, presentation and discussion of Ante-projectos.  Given the characteristics of this Curricular unit, the most appropriate pedagogy is oriented towards motivating the choice of a work theme, which, starting the process of selecting the theme of the master's work can allow application exercises. The evaluation will focus on the elaboration of the respective dissertation preliminary draft (100%). The quality of this work will assess the learning process and the development of the competencies envisaged.
