Lusófona invests in body composition assessment technology

Innovative technology aims to assess body composition for clinical research.

Universidade Lusófona, through its CBIOS R&D unit of the School of Health, now has sophisticated equipment for assessing body composition and bone mass. This DXA densitometer from General Electrics corresponds to the most advanced system, in terms of precision and image resolution, used to assess bone mass and body fat content, including visceral and subcutaneous fat, and muscle mass. It is an essential tool for clinical research carried out at CBIOS in particular in the fields of Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome, among others, and for this reason a great technological advance with an impact on teaching and research carried out at our university.
