    S3. Strategy, planning, and Decision. Planning; Strategic Planning; Decision-Making
    S4. Organization. Objectives and design aspects of the Organization; Organizational Structures; Structure determinants; Authority, Influence, and Power
    S5. Direction. Theories of Motivation; Leadership; Communication
    S6. Control. The control process and its relationship with the planning; Patterns, Performance assessment, and corrective action; Control Methods

    Objectives

    Learning outcomes (LO) - At the end of this unit, the students will be able to:
    LO1 - Understand the concept of management
    LO2 - Comprehend the evolution of the main theories of management
    LO3 - Understand the concept of organization and its interaction with the external environment
    LO4 - Understand the basic functions of management, planning, organization, direction and control as well as some of the main techniques involved.

    TM1 - Expositional: presentation of the concepts and techniques related to the syllabus contents
    TM2 - Participative: analysis and resolution of cases
    TM3 - Self-study: utonomous work by the student
