  • Objectives

    Objectives

The objective of the Curricular Unit of Electromagnetism and Waves is the study of time-constant electric fields, time-constant magnetic fields, stationary electric current, electromagnetic field and electromagnetic waves. More specifically, it is intended to convey to students the notion of field, the methods ofdetermination of the electric field, the notions of electric potential and electric energy; the notions of current intensity and current density; the methods of determination of the magnetic field (Ampère's law and Biot-Savart's law), the flux of the magnetic field, magnetic energy and solenoids; and also Faraday's law and generalised Ampère's law.
