Class Social Policies II

  • Presentation

    Presentation

The study of SP is fundamental in the training of SW. This course, a continuation of Unit I, reflects on the SP as a process and result of complex and contradictory relationships, as a set of actions and inactions that aim to ensure redistribution, risk management and social inclusion. To understand the SP, the context of the emergence of neoliberalism and the crisis of the social state and the consequences for SP in the space of the (current) hegemony of neoliberalism are presented. Policy analysis is exposed as a fundamental tool for the SW, with special emphasis on the process in phases. In the interconnection between SP and SW, the sectoral SP are presented, in which the SW operates in the regulation of social problems and inequalities as well as in the realisation of rights and social justice. The diversity of SP in social protection, health, justice, education and local power is presented, as well as the competences of the SW in these areas
