    The main objectives of this course are the development and application of the main concepts and tools associated with the Economy for a better analysis and interpretation of the tourist market and tourism companies as the main actors of service development in a market in constant dynamics. At a global level, it also aims to assess the impact of tourism on the economy of countries and destinations and to frame them in a sustainability perspective.

    It aims to provide students with fundamental skills for a better understanding of tourism activity as an economic activity, mastery of tools and tools for the development of economic analysis capabilities of the tourism phenomenon, with emphasis on their economic impacts.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

    At the end of the semester the student must have achieved the following objectives:
    a) At the level of knowledge application, understanding of the main instruments of economic analysis that frame decision making in activities within the tourism sector, as well as a correct understanding of the multidisciplinary themes that condition such decision making;
    (b) at the level of analysis and evaluation, the ability to identify all variables that have an impact on tourism development as an economic activitym cumulatively sustainable.

    With this knowledge acquired, it is considered that the student will be able to interpret the macro and microeconomic framework of a destination with a view to its use in favor of a sustainable tourism activity.

    Skills that favor the pursuit of the objectives are analytical capacity, searching for causes, and synthesis, observation and curiosity. Zest for for mathematical calculation is a plus.
