1.Preliminary considerations of scientific research methodology. 2. The scientific text: factors of valuation. 4. the choice of subject. 5. The research process: a) Planning: i) Choice of the subject and the supervisor; ii) Identification of the problem or research questions; iii) The chronogram; iv) Bibliographical and jurisprudential research. b) The research of the sources: i) Previous questions; ii) The libraries; iii) Bibliographical files and archive; iv) Jurisprudence and legislation; v) Reading sheets and reading notes. c) Structuring the text. d) Drafting: i) General aspects; b) Footnotes; c) Citation; d) Bibliographical references in footnotes; e) Organization of the final bibliography; f) Revision and final formatting of the text. 6. Ethical Considerations. Intellectual humility. Plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Academic fraud and intellectual dishonesty.

Objectives
Objectives
Learn the fundamental concepts, steps and methods involved in the research process. Learn to delimit the object and field of study, to carry out reflection and analysis of the contents, literature review, methodology and bibliography. Develop skills to conceive and develop a dissertation project with quality and respecting the principles of ethics and the rules of scientific production.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The classes will have an expositive part where the stages and the main concepts and methods involved in the research process will be presented, in permanent interaction with the students, and will have, equally, a part where the students will expose the research process and the work project to present or present in one of the other curricular units of the 1st semester of the course, at their choice. Will contribute to the curricular unit evaluation the assiduity, the class participation, the presentation of the plans and bibliography of one of the works to be presented in the other curricular units. Attendance and participation in conferences, forums and other initiatives organised by the Faculty of Law and/or by the CEAD Francisco Suárez.
