    After acquiring knowledge and skills in the various areas of human sexuality after the first year of the 2nd cycle of study, students will be able to design and implement a research project in the area of ¿¿sexuality psychology.

    1. Literature review, using databases and other scientifically recognized bibliographic sources nationally and internationally;

    2. Problem formulation and research hypotheses, duly grounded in the state of the art and based on the identification of knowledge gaps / research needs based on literature review;

    3. Selection / reflection on the methodologies that best suit the research questions and the ethical requirements of research with humans in Sexology;

    4. Where applicable, contact with conducting an empirical study, including through data collection

    5. Where applicable, statistical analysis of the data;

    6. Interpretation of the results in the light of the literature review performed;

    7. Dissemination of research results to the scientific community

    Objectives

    Students will work on a process that includes planning and implementation of their projects of which will culminate in the elaboration of the final dissertation.
    Integrating in pre-defined and / or adjusted research lines and themes with the areas of competence of the mentors, it is intended that the students develop, with accompaniment tutorial, a substantial part of the work plan that supports the preparation of the dissertation: the literature revision; the definition of objectives, research hypotheses and options methodological; the realization of an empirical study and the interpretation of the results; and writing of a dissertation, in accordance with the requirements of a scientific work. It is also intended provide students with structured contact with in-depth research themes that enable them to acquire and develop sound knowledge and skills in scientific research.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    The teaching methodology will be tutorial, with weekly sessions held in small groups. Each student has room to advance in the preparation of his work, based on the follow-up as well as to share your doubts, difficulties and suggestions with the group. It is intended that, starting from the reflection about the specific questions to each project, they can increase their knowledge of cross-cutting issues in scientific work.
    As soon as possible, the active methods (eg practical data analysis exercises) enable them to acquire advanced research knowledge and skills which, in addition to
    his present work are transversal and transferable to other future research projects. The evaluation results from the presentation and defense of the master's dissertation according to the regulation and evaluation grid in force at EPCV.
