Class Research Seminar on Human Sexuality, with Dissertation

Após a aquisição de conhecimentos e de competências nas diversas áreas da sexualidade humana após o primeiro ano do 2º ciclo de estudos, os alunos terão oportunidade de desenhar e implementar um projeto de investigação na área da psicologia da sexualidade.

1. Literature review, using databases and other scientifically recognized bibliographic sources nationally and internationally;

2. Problem formulation and research hypotheses, duly grounded in the state of the art and based on the identification of knowledge gaps / research needs based on literature review;

3. Selection / reflection on the methodologies that best suit the research questions and the ethical requirements of research with humans in Sexology;

4. Where applicable, contact with conducting an empirical study, including through data collection

5. Where applicable, statistical analysis of the data;

6. Interpretation of the results in the light of the literature review performed;

7. Dissemination of research results to the scientific community

The teaching methodology will be tutorial, with weekly sessions held in small groups. Each student has room to advance in the preparation of his work, based on the follow-up as well as to share your doubts, difficulties and suggestions with the group. It is intended that, starting from the reflection about the specific questions to each project, they can increase their knowledge of cross-cutting issues in scientific work. As soon as possible, the active methods (eg practical data analysis exercises) enable them to acquire advanced research knowledge and skills which, in addition to his present work are transversal and transferable to other future research projects. The evaluation results from the presentation and defense of the master's dissertation according to the regulation and evaluation grid in force at EPCV.
