This UC has a strong theoretical-practical component and aims to provide students with knowledge about methodologies used in sex education. In turn, sexuality counseling skills are addressed and trained, adapted to different contexts and target populations.

The syllabus will be taught using a variety of methodologies, namely: oral presentation of contents (ME1); brainstorming (ME2); interactive dialogue and guided discussion (ME3); discussion of cases (ME4); exercises (individual or in groups) to apply the concepts taught (ME5); dramatization/role-play exercises (ME6); tutoring of ongoing group work (ME7); research, reading, analysis and discussion of scientific articles and other relevant literature (ME8);

For the evaluation of the curricular unit, students can choose to:

1. Continuous assessment: written work (40% weight), with oral presentation (20% weight), and a role-play of a sexual counseling situation/sex education program (40% weighting). To succeed in the UC, the final weighted average of the three assessment elements must be equal to or greater than 10 points.

2. Final assessment. Written exam with 100% weighting.
