    Placed on the last year of the course program, the UC matches with other practical Units (Television, Digital and Printed Journalism), each one of them specifically oriented . The two main vectors of the UC (theoretical approach and practical training) allow students to have a qualified understanding of the radio as a specific medium (all along its history, and to its current nowadays presence on the world of the mass communications) at the same time they can learn the tool and procedures of the radio making.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

    Learn the history of radio and understand its characteristics and specificities.

    The journalistic language of radio and distinguish it from the language of entertainment.

    The course aims to introduce students to the world of radio by providing them with the necessary tools to be able to express themselves in a journalistic style. They will gain technical skills to edit news, fulfill the role of pivot, cover press conferences, do reports, interviews and news for the radio using their own voice and sound recordings.

    Knowing the history of the radio and get acquainted with its current status and development.

    Learning radio language: news and entertainment.

    The end of ephemeral: new challenges and opportunities on the internet.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    This is a lab unit in which the teacher presents the topics in theoretical and explanatory sessions followed by assignments, so the students can practice.

    Part of the work is done in class and another part outside class.

    Assessment:

    Continuous evaluation distributed as follows:

    - participation in classes, including work carried out throughout the school year (50%)

    - final work of reportage (50%)

    Exams: Exams require mandatory practical work in classroom context
